Our company & introduction
This is a straight SMA RF male connector designed by Zhenjiang Tongda Electronics Co., Ltd. for use with 50Ω RF cables featuring an insulation outer diameter of approximately 1.0mm; it utilizes a crimp termination method and is widely used in high-frequency signal transmission applications.

layout
This straight SMA RF plug, manufactured by Zhenjiang Tongda Electronics Co., Ltd., consists of a center pin, a PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) insulator, and a metal housing, forming a standard 50Ω coaxial structure that transmits high-frequency signals via the TEM (Transverse Electromagnetic) mode. Its precision design ensures impedance matching across the entire assembly, thereby minimizing signal reflection and loss. Signals travel along the center pin, while the metal housing connects to the cable shield to complete the grounding circuit. The use of a 1/4-36 threaded connection ensures tight metal-to-metal contact; this configuration not only provides 360° electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding but also maintains stable, low contact resistance.
electrical parameters
Characteristic Impedance: Standard 50Ω;
Frequency Range: Standard models DC–18 GHz; high-precision millimeter-wave SMA models up to 26.5 GHz;
Coupling Torque: 0.4–0.6 N·m (avoid excessive force to prevent thread stripping);
VSWR: Flexible cable ≤ 1.10 + 0.02f, semi-rigid cable ≤ 1.07 + 0.018f;
application
1. Sufficient depth is reserved at equipment interfaces to accommodate straight-line cable routing;
2. Laboratory test cables (straight-type test cables are standard for signal sources and spectrum analyzers);
3. External antennas connected to GPS and WiFi modules utilize straight-line routing;
4. Cable exit points for the RF main unit and signal transmission modules;

Selection Criteria
1. Distinguishing between SMA and RP-SMA (Reverse Polarity SMA)
Routers and Wi-Fi antennas typically use RP-SMA connectors; the connector features internal threads, making it incompatible with standard SMA straight plugs-they cannot be interchanged.
2. Matching cable specifications
You must select the correct straight plug (J1, J1.5, or J3) based on the cable's outer diameter; a mismatch will result in poor contact and degraded VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) performance.
3. Impedance compatibility
Do not mix impedances; a 50Ω SMA straight plug cannot be used with 75Ω coaxial cable (commonly used for surveillance systems), as this would lead to a significant increase in signal loss and reflection.
