Working Principle

 

The SMA-C-J1 employs a classic threaded coupling mechanism. As the male connector is screwed in, the threads mesh seamlessly, ensuring a secure lock and a full 360-degree grounding contact between the inner and outer conductors. Its core feature is the internal PTFE insulator, which precisely maintains the spacing between the center and outer conductors, ensuring unimpeded signal transmission without reflection or loss. Meanwhile, the crimp design at the rear uses a specialized tool to tightly clamp the ferrule onto the cable's shielding layer, providing resistance against vibration and pulling forces while completely eliminating electromagnetic interference.

Installation Guidelines

 

Strip Accurately: Always follow our stripping dimension drawings. Don't nick the center conductor, and keep the braided shield neat and tidy.

Use the Right Tool: Never use regular pliers. You must use a dedicated SMA crimping tool. Crimp it firmly in one go-no double crimping!

Keep it Clean: Before crimping, check the inside for any copper shavings or dust. Wipe it with some alcohol if necessary.

Tighten Properly: Hand-tighten to align the threads, then use a torque wrench to tighten it to 0.5–0.7 N·m. Don't use brute force; overtightening can ruin the threads or crack the dielectric.

Weatherproof for Outdoors: If it's going outside, add some heat-shrink tubing or waterproof tape. A little extra protection goes a long way.
