The TNC-K5 is a TNC female bulkhead connector designed by our company specifically for high-density installation scenarios. A classic model in our export lineup, it features a robust flange-mount design engineered to provide a stable and reliable RF interface on metal panels, shielded enclosures, or equipment housings. Beyond inheriting the vibration-resistant benefits of the TNC series' threaded locking mechanism, this connector ensures signal integrity and connection stability in complex electromagnetic environments thanks to its unique mounting configuration.
Working Principle
The TNC-K5 is securely fastened to the equipment panel via mounting holes on its square or circular flange, forming a permanent, low-impedance grounding path. When a TNC male connector is threaded in, its precision threads engage tightly with the internal threads of the TNC-K5, pushing the center probe to achieve reliable elastic contact with the male center pin. This design ensures perfect coaxial alignment of the inner and outer conductors (signal and ground), maintaining a stable 50Ω characteristic impedance across a wide frequency range and minimizing signal reflection and energy loss.
Structure and Materials
Body Material: Made of high-strength brass to ensure mechanical strength and durability.
Surface Plating: The body features a ternary plating (copper, nickel, gold, or silver), providing excellent conductivity along with superior corrosion and oxidation resistance for various harsh environments.
Dielectric: High-quality Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is used as the insulating support, with its extremely low dielectric loss and high stability ensuring signal transmission purity.
Center Contact: Made of highly elastic beryllium copper or phosphor bronze and plated with a thick gold layer, ensuring stable contact resistance and low insertion loss after hundreds of mating cycles.
Mounting Flange: The flange is designed with standard screw holes for secure installation with tools. Some models can be equipped with sealing rings to achieve waterproof and dustproof functions.

Installation Guidelines
Panel Hole: Please strictly follow the dimension drawings provided by our company to drill holes in the equipment panel, ensuring the accuracy of the hole diameter and spacing.
Installation Torque: When tightening the mounting screws, it is recommended to use a torque screwdriver and control it within the recommended torque range to avoid flange deformation or panel damage caused by overtightening.
Cleanliness Check: Before connection, please check that the connector threads and center contact are clean and free of debris to ensure connection quality.
Alignment: When connecting the TNC male connector, first align the threads by hand and screw in a few turns. Confirm there is no jamming before tightening with a wrench. Never force it to prevent thread damage.
Environmental Protection: If used outdoors or in humid environments, it is recommended to use sealant or install an O-ring at the joint between the connector and the panel to achieve the best protective effect.
