Product Overview
Common TNC RF connectors typically feature TNC caps. It can be categorized as either shorting or non-shorting. Shorting dust caps or terminations (not necessarily impedance-matched) short the center pin to ground and should only be used with unpowered RF ports. Non-shorting dust caps are still not impedance-matched terminations and should not be used with powered ports, but this variation does not directly short the center pin to the external conductor.
TNC caps typically consist of a body, nut, insulating washer, and may include an optional chain to secure the cap to the device or equipment rack.
The dust cap body and coupling nut are typically made of common conductive materials such as brass or passivated stainless steel.
The brass body, coupling nut, and chain material are nickel-plated to provide a corrosion-resistant surface.
The washer material is typically silicone or other insulating, flexible materials that handle compression well and resist environmental degradation.
